เกิดที่แซน-แซ็ง-เดอนี เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2513 พำนักและทำงานอยู่ที่เบอร์ลิน และ ปารีส

คาแดร์ อัทเทีย เติบโตที่กรุงปารีสและแอลจีเรีย เขาศึกษาที่ École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré และ École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs ณ กรุงปารีส รวมถึง Escola Massana, Centre d’Art i Disseny ณ เมืองบาร์เซโลนา นอกจากนี้เขายังอยู่ที่คองโกและแอฟริกาใต้เป็นเวลาหลายปี

ในปี พ.ศ. 2559 คาแดร์ อัทเทีย ได้รับรางวัล Marcel Duchamp Prize และในปี พ.ศ. 2560 เขาได้รับรางวัล Prize of the Miró Foundation เมืองบาร์เซโลนา และ Yanghyun Prize กรุงโซล
