The Canopy Walks
The Canopy Walks is an exhibition presented in the form of an art handler's toolbox. It introduces and promotes "The Canopy Project," a website that compiles the history of Thai art group exhibitions, encompassing a total of 857 exhibitions. This database serves as a platform for exploring the individuals, organizations, and their interconnections within the Thai art world, akin to the intricate ecosystem of the "canopy" in tropical rainforests. The Canopy Walks serves as a bridge between visitors and the website, inviting everyone to step inside, explore, and uncover the richness of contemporary Thai art that has been growing since the 1970s through various keywords. The toolbox displays books, exhibition catalogs, as well as the equipment related to exhibition making. The project is the outcome of collaborative efforts between the research team and Punch Up World Company Limited. It is part of a series of research projects conducted under the National Art Museum of Thailand (NAMT).
