Production Zomia conducts “Zomia in the Cloud” project in the Thailand Biennale, Chiang Rai 2023 and we invite Busui Ajaw, a contemporary artist from the Akha ethnic group exhibiting her works at the Thailand Biennale, Chiang Rai 2023. Busui and Professor Shimizu Ikuro, Akha House Researcher/Anthropologist will discuss the future of Akha tradition and art practice moderated by Manuporn Luengaram, curator of the Thailand Biennale, Chiang Rai 2023, and Yabumoto Yuto, member of Production Zomia to think about 'Zomia-ness' (Zomia-ness means the possibility of the Art of Not Being Governed) beyond locality and place, and the guest speakers discuss to consider the possibility of 'Zomia-ness' in the contemporary world.
