Taiki Sakpisit is a filmmaker and artist based in Bangkok, known for his distinctive storytelling and deep exploration of Thailand’s complex history. His films dissect the nation’s turbulent past, weaving tension, memory, and uncertainty into meticulously crafted audiovisual compositions. Through a dynamic interplay of sound and imagery, he constructs cinematic experiences that challenge perception and narrative conventions. His feature The Edge of Daybreak won the FIPRESCI Prize at the International Film Festival Rotterdam for its haunting portrayal of trauma and resilience. Taiki was Artist-in-Residence at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam (2022-23) and the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art in Singapore (2018). His recent works have been exhibited at the Gwangju Biennale, Museum of Contemporary Art Busan, Bangkok Art Biennale, and the Mercosul Biennial in Porto Alegre (Brazil).
